Lost letter

SO here I sat this morning for over 30 minutes telling a wonderful tale and i-tunes performs 2 updates. Ok no problem. They finish and as I am about to lay a keystroke down up pops the do you want to shut down and restart to activate changes window. I am in motion and cannot stop as my cursor sits on shutdown I press it. As shock settles in on me the shut-down process starts and I stroke save but it is too late and my 2 page letter vanishes. After the Butterfly comes back online I can not find my letter. I have spent 18 minutes looking for it. So your breakfast letter is trapped out  there with Tron.
